Immigration in Spain

More Info
According to the European Control Agency of External Borders (Frontex), Spain ranks just behind Italy as the country experiencing the greatest increase in immigration in Europe. Immigration in the country has increased 600% in 2014: the first quarter of the year alone saw a 130% increase compared to the same period in 2013. Most of Spain’s immigrants are of sub-Saharan African descent, and enter the country primarily through maritime borders or the Spainsh border with Morocco. The Spanish Commission for Refugee Aid (CEAR) has accused Moroccan authorities of using violent tactics against immigrants including mass deportations. The recent influx of migration has only increased these abuses.
