Kyrgyzstan's Interim Government Unable to Squelch Ethnic Violence
More Info
Following a violent overthrow of government in April, Kyrgyzstan has been seeing an abundance of racial clashes. Entire streets and neighborhoods are going in flames, sometimes incinerating families inside them. Officials and aid agencies say the bloodshed between Kyrgyz and Uzbeks have killed up to 2,000 people and affected up to one million, including 300,000 people displaced in Kyrgyzstan and 100,000 who have fled to neighbouring Uzbekistan.
