Children's Rights in Asia

More Info
Children in Asia are vulnerable to malnutrition and health issues, sexual abuse and trafficking; they are especially used as child labour in factories, small scale industries and often hazardous jobs such as cigarette rolling, fireworks and carpet industries. Most Asian countries have introduced legislation to protect children and their right to education, maintain their health and a standard of living. Midday meals have been introduced in India to deal malnutrition that effects almost 43% of the children in the country. The juvenile law is meant to protect and reform children who have committed criminal offences. Children are made more vulnerable because of gender, caste, class and ongoing conflicts.
