Social Unrest in Argentina

More Info
In 2013, Argentina celebrated 30 years of democracy. However, the situation in country is far from celebratory. Social discontent has grown significantly during Cristina Fernández de Kirchner’s government, creating an unstable situation and rising inflation. Worker strikes take place in which unionists, transporters, and police demand salary increases. In June, Argentinians held their first general strike in 12 years to protest a new tax policy.
