Political Disqualifications in Venezuela
On March 1st, Venezuelan democracy has faced an important test of international justice. For the first time, the Inter-American Court of Human Rights, the hemisphere’s highest court, has judged the violation of political rights as perpetrated by the current Venezuelan government. The Venezuelan State has used political disqualification to eliminate Venezuelans’ basic democratic right: the right to elect and to be elected. More
