Malaysian Walk for Democracy: Bersih 2.0
In 2007, a rally to campaign for electoral reform drew about 40,000 people who demanded an end to allegations of corruption in the Malaysian government. After demands fell on deaf ears, 20,000 protesters again took to the streets on 9 July 2011 for the Bersih 2.0 rally. Bersih, which means "clean" in Malay, is the name of the coalition of opposition that is standing for specific electoral reforms. Both rallies were subjected to heavy police response. More
