Though the fall of Saddam’s regime in 2003 seemingly propelled Iraq towards democratization, a great deal of problems and ongoing conflicts continue to exist. This includes severe human rights violations inflicted by authorities, who are not being held accountable. This is raising concerns that Iraq is once again transforming into a police state. More
