Slum Demolitions in Kenya

More Info
A huge population in Kenya lives in slums and informal settlements - almost 60% of the population of Nairobi live on 6% of the land. Two of the biggest slums in the world are located in Kenya, Mathera and Kibera. Now these slums and land are targets of several development projects and initiatives. Large scale demolitions have been taking place and the people often belonging to minority groups (Muslims) and tribes are being further disenfranchised. There is a need for clinics, electricity, water and other amenities but instead people are being evicted without compensation and rehabilitation.
