Austerity Measures in Greece

More Info
Greece’s economy has been in dire straits for years, leading to the country's dependency on rescue loans and resulting in a recession, high rates of unemployment, and austerity measures. Because Greece’s economic state has only continued to worsen, the government is further cutting spending. Citizens of Greece, who have responded in the past with protests and strikes, have again taken to the streets to protest the impending cuts, only to be met with a police crackdown.
